CTE is a manufacturer of precision fabricated, welded, machined and Insulated components. We supply these components predominantly into the motorsport and automotive sectors. Our products include exhaust systems, radiators and associated pipework and charge coolers. Almost any metallic component on a race car.
In our Aylesbury based premises, we employ approximately 30 staff in a wide variety of roles.
We currently have a new vacancy for the position of CNC machinist to join our team.
The role of CNC machinist will include; assessing engineering/CAD drawings to establish a strategy for creating a machined part. Implementing the strategy with consideration to which machine, or combination thereof gives the most efficient use of time and resources, available tooling and whether new tooling is required. Liaising with tooling suppliers to ensure the relevant tooling is ordered in a timely fashion. Alerting stores and production staff as to material requirements. On machine programming, and where necessary, off line programming machining paths for more complex parts. Assessing and agreeing lead times with the Production Manager. Ensuring quality targets are met at all times. Liaise with Quality Engineer so that all parties are aware of tolerance limits and how these are to be attained and measured. Planning work across several machines in order to maximise machine run times.
Most of the components we machine here at CTE are Aluminium, stainless steel and Inconel. These are high value materials and certainly in the case of Inconel, considered to be challenging to machine accurately.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate an ability to work well in a small team, but also be able to take the initiative and enjoy the responsibility of working on their own. Key requirements of the role include a strict attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines, completing tasks in an often-demanding working environment.
